Jetski Fishing Launch Sites Durban Natal South Coast

Below is a list of launch sites where you can launch your Jetski and a comment of how "Jetski Friendly" they are

Umkomaas Launch Site

Launch description

Very Jetski friendly club who really welcome Jetskis. Please note however you cannot fish the MV Produce wreck and you canot fish the crown area of Aliwal Shoal (details and GPS marks on the website here) If in doubt when you are near Aliwal Shoal do not fish less than 25 metres deep. Please give preference to the divers and dive boats. Umkomaas is a launch site where you can beach launch or most of the time you can launch out of the river. You exit under the bridge where you can launch between the pier on the South side and the beach on the North side. Be careful when the river is low or it is low tide the mouth can be very shallow. In a large swell it can be a tricky launch. The launch site is used daily by the dive boats going to Aliwla Shoal. There is parking on the beach but it would be wise to park in the car park where there is a gate control security guard 24 hours. Please note DAFF are very active here so observe fishing areas and bag limits and make sure you take your licence out to sea with you. Your licence must include the payment for Skipper of a Vessel. Only the Skipper needs to pay for this section.

Launch process

You must sign the register which is kept in the life savers at the launch entrance until 7am and then there is a person who will control the register after 7am.
